Vote Yes for Safety!
Winfield Fire District residents have less ambulance capacity than any of our neighbors. Vote YES to add an additional ambulance crew and improve response times.
What’s the true cost?
It would cost you more to be reassigned to a neighboring fire protection district than it would be to vote YES for this referendum. The below table compares the taxes paid to the fire district based on the value of your home:
|Home Value||Current WFPD||Proposed WFPD||Monthly Cost Difference||Warrenville||Carol Stream||West Chicago|
*That’s equivalent to
One Tall Salted Caramel Cream
Cold Brew from Starbucks
Increased call volume and level funding since 1990 jeopardizes our fire department’s future
Last year we had over 2,100 calls come through the Winfield Fire Protection District. That’s a 162% increase in call volume since the volunteer service was ended in 1991. Our fire department has been operating with the same budget for almost 30 years.
Did you know? That the Winfield Fire Protection district covers more than just winfield.
The map below displays the coverage area for the district. The red color outlines the entire Winfield Ambulance and Fire Protection District; the white outlined over layer represents the Winfield Village area which makes up only 1/4th of the territory.
Half of the homes have West Chicago, Carol Stream, or Wheaton addresses.
